Lundquist College students,
Ducks of a feather flock together. In times of trouble, we lift each other up and soar to new heights. With this in mind, I offer my support to each and every one of you. Whether this is your first term or final term with the Lundquist College of Business, your success is our priority.
Since pivoting to primarily remote and online instruction in March, we have worked unceasingly to enhance the overall learning experience for you, our valued students. These enhancements include the installation of new and improved technologies, targeted training for our faculty, and the use of Canvas, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams for course delivery.
For undergraduate students, the Braddock Tutoring Center will operate remotely through fall term, and we are thrilled to announce an optional program, “Learning to Fly: The Lundquist Flight School,” as an integrated first-year experience for all incoming students. During the course of the year, interested incoming pre-business and direct-admit students will be paired with an upper-class mentor to aid in navigating available resources and building a community in a remote setting.
As we approach fall term, I would like to direct you to the college’s fall term resources page, a one-stop shop of information meant to support your achievement of educational excellence. This page will continue to evolve based on your input to enrich your learning and overall student experience. Included on this page are links to the Campus Virtual Lab for access to software needed for most classes, as well as resources to support you, including the Lundquist College Office of Student Success, Mohr Career Services, UO’s Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center, the Accessible Education Center, and Duck Nest.
As outlined by the President, all students will have access to remote and in-person services, programs, and activities in the libraries, Erb Memorial Union and Student Rec Center. In addition, we are working on a plan to enable the use of the Lillis Business Complex as a hub for team, group, and club meetings.
Exciting things are happening as we innovate and adapt to the current and post-COVID-19 world. Looking ahead, remote work will be a much larger component of business operations than ever before. Our goal is to deliver a learning experience that enables you to thrive no matter what the employment landscape looks like when you enter the job market. To that end, Mohr Career Services continues to provide comprehensive career planning to students at every stage of their academic career and will offer robust opportunities to connect virtually with employers and alumni of the college.
I look forward to seeing you in the near future. Until then, please do not hesitate to reach out. We want to hear from you. Your feedback is vital as we continue to invest in providing the best possible education to ensure you have a transformational experience.
Go Ducks!
